What is an advance screening?

Advance screenings are provided on behalf of the studio and free to attend. They are typically held at local movie theaters or screening rooms. There are four main types of screenings

• Promotions - These are offered to promote the movie, create awareness, and begin the process of spreading the word.
• Research - Studios provide research screenings to get your input and ideas regarding the movie. Often a survey or questionnaire will follow the screening.
• Publicity / Press - Members of the press are invited to watch the movie. In turn, they write articles about the movie in their publications.
• World Premiere - This is the official "red-carpet" opening of the movie. Actors, Directors, and Producers will usually attend.
